Everyone has their own tried and true acne remedy. Some work better than others, depending upon the blemish, the person's skin type, and the diligence of application. If you have problems, you have likely tried many if not all of the commercial and prescription acne remedies that are currently available. But here are a few acne remedies that you probably haven't tried yet. And they all use ingredients that you probably already have in your pantry.
Lemon juice and organic tea-tree oil: Rub lemon juice over the face followed by a generous amount of tea-tree oil. Allow to dry and if necessary, rinse with warm water. Repeat this procedure several times throughout the day.
Organic Egg Whites: Dab a small amount of egg white on the pimple and let it dry and sit overnight. Blemishes are usually reduced by the next morning.
Natural Toothpaste: Apply toothpaste directly to the affected areas on the skin. It will dry out the blemish and reduce its visible appearance.
Vicks Vapor Rub: Many folks swear by this product to dry up blemishes. Just put a little on the problem area and let it set overnight.
Organic Wheat Germ: Mix some wheat germ into your normal foods like cereal or salads. It should clear up skin and leave it feeling supple and soft.
Organic Apple Cider Vinegar: Apply a small amount of organic apple cider vinegar to the affected area with a cotton ball. It will instantly reduce swelling and diminish the appearance of the blemish.
Zinc Orotate Supplement: Acne can occur as a side effect of a zinc deficiency. Taking a zinc supplement on a daily basis will ensure that your body gets an adequate supply of zinc and improve the subsequent acne.
Organic Baking Soda and Lemon: Mix the two ingredients in a small bowl and apply to the face. Rinse off immediately with warm water and pat the skin dry.
Honey and Cinnamon: make a paste using three tablespoons of honey and one tablespoon of cinnamon. Apply in a circular motion to the affected area and leave on overnight.
Tea Tree Oil and Bottled Water: Mix the a few drops of tea tree oil into some bottled water. Shake well and apply to the affected area with a cotton ball.
Lemon Juice and Natural Toothpaste: Make a paste of the two ingredients and apply to the affected area. Leave on for ten to thirty minutes. This paste is very drying so do not leave it on overnight.
Organic Cream of Tartar: Make a paste using cream of tartar and water. Apply to the affected area and let dry for ten to thirty minutes. Rinse off with lukewarm water. You can also take advantage of the antioxidant properties of cream of tartar by mixing it with your favorite beverage and drinking it.
Organic Flax Seed: Mix a few tablespoons of flax seed with your favorite beverage and drink at least once a day. It will lower cholesterol, improve digestion, and reduce the incidence of acne.
Organic Basil Leaves: Simmer a small handful of fresh basil leaves in two cups of water for fifteen minutes. Chill the mixture and them apply to the face with a cotton ball. Repeat the application twice a day for a week or until the blemishes clear up.
Organic Oatmeal and honey: Mix oatmeal and honey to make a paste and rub on face. Rinse with cold water after ten minutes.
Pawpaw Ointment: Apply a small amount to the blemish once a day. Pawpaw ointment will help to reduce the redness and itchiness of acne.
Clear Aloe Vera: Gently rub aloe vera onto skin twice daily after cleansing. Aloe vera can reduce the inflammation and redness of blemishes.
Rose Water and Lemon Juice: Mix the two ingredients and apply to acne affected areas. Allow to dry for thirty minutes and rinse with warm water. Repeat this procedure at least three times daily.
Vanilla Extract: Dab a small amount of vanilla extract onto blemishes to dry them up and reduce irritation.
Organic Potato: Slice a raw, fresh, cold, potato into thin slices. Rub over acne or any other irritations on the skin. Do not rinse off. This will reduce the swelling, and redness of most blemishes.
